Dated 1300 - 1330
Belt made of thick vegetable tanned beef leather with a brass
buckle and strap end is decorated by engraving and colour.
The used pattern and colour combination is from medieval York. The
orginal fragment is almost 5cm wide. The leather fragment does not
have (as most of the excavated pieces) the metal parts present, and
is quite long. Dating of the leather fragment is to 1st
half of 14th century. (Mould, Carlisle, Cameron, 2003)
The combination of buckle and strapend is than dated in between
the years 1200 - 1330 and is made according to excavated pieces from
England (Finds from England)
The mentioned lenght of the product is measured from the buckle to
the tip of the strap end. The belt has no holes made. You can make
them yourself, or send us your measurements and tell us how many you
